Hockeyroo captain Madonna Blyth will be Manning Hockey Association's special guest at the grand finals. Matches started on Friday night when three divisions were decided. Junior and senior grand finals will be played on Saturday.-
Tigers will play Wingham in women's division one while unbeaten Chatham tackle Tigers in men's division one.-
Taree Netball's junior and senior grand finals will be played on Saturday.-
Group Three Rugby League's big day will be at Wauchope on Sunday. Wauchope will be looking to win a hat-trick of in the first grade match where they tackle Macleay from 3pm.-
Wauchope captain-coach Rob Trembath, 33, has indicated that win, lose or draw this will be his last game before he retires.-
Manning Ratz and Wallamba will battle out the Lower North Coast Rugby Union final at Taree Rugby Park on Saturday. Winner meets minor premier Forster-Tuncurry in the grand final at Tuncurry on Saturday September 20.-
Macleay Valley and Port United will meet in the final of the Football Mid North Coast Premier League at Danger Street Fields in Kempsey on Saturday. The winner will play Wallis Lake in the grand final at Port Macquarie Regional Stadium on Saturday, September 20. -
Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club will run a six event non TAB meeting at the Tuncurry track on Saturday where the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club Tuncurry Mile to start at 3.56pm will be the feature.-
On Monday Taree-Wingham Race Club will run a seven event TAB card that will mark the 40th anniversary of racing at the Bushland Drive complex. The Turfcare NSW Bushland Drive Racecourse 40th Anniversary Cup will be the main race, starting at 3.08.-
The final round of Taree Golf Club's championships will be decided on Saturday afternoon. Title holder Ben Marron holds a one shot lead over Matt Walz in A-grade.-
Wingham's Maitlan Brown will be a member of the NSW Country women's cricket team to play City in the annual three-game series at Blacktown on Sunday. Further matches will be played at Port Macquarie on October 4 and Blacktown on October 18. Three T20 games will be decided.-
The fourth annual Brooks Forster Festival of Running will be held at Forster-Tuncurry on Sunday. This will include a half marathon, 10km and 5km races along with a community walk and races for children.-
The half marathon will be first away from 7am. All events start and finish at Forster Main Beach.-
Taree Greyhound Club runs on Sunday with a 12 event card at at the Kanangra Drive track from 1.05pm.-
As winter sports give way to summer, Lower North Coast Branch Surf Lifesaving clubs are gearing up for the start of the new season.-
The annual raising of the flag ceremony will be held at 10am on Crowdy Head on Saturday September 20, marking the start of patrols.
