This order follows the inspection of the stables that was undertaken yesterday where it was noted:
- A piece of roof sheeting had blown off,
- Several other roof sheets have become partially detached,
- One of the rafters have broken in two pieces, and
- A number of the roof battens were breaking.
The emergency order requires action to be taken within seven days, weather-permitting.
“Community safety is our number one priority in this instance,” stated Ron Posselt, council's acting general manager. “We would like the opportunity to talk with the Wingham community and are hoping to organise an information session in Wingham later next week.”
