Taree High was ready to play from the first whistle and took control of the game with a 19 to 8 first quarter performance.
The game tightened up in a low scoring second quarter thanks to Wingham High’s strong defence, which saw Taree High extend their margin by just two points to go into half time up 28 to 15.
Wingham High came out firing after half time to outscore their opponents in the third quarter to the tune of 17 to 10 which saw Taree High’s margin reduced to just six points heading into the final quarter.
The game went basket for basket in the fourth and final quarter and when the siren sounded for full time it was Taree High claiming victory 51 to 43.
Jordan Woodward was the standout scorer for Wingham High with 30 points followed by Jaland Small with nine points.
Alex Milliken and Lisiate Hull also contributed to the score with a basket each.
