Tinonee Topics correspondent Pam Muxlow reported:
THE culmination of a dream and many hours of fund raising and hours of filling out paperwork became a reality on Saturday afternoon when the Supper Room and renovated kitchen extension at Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall was officially opened.
Some 63 people were on hand at the 3pm ceremony, when hall president Ray Flippence welcomed all and gave a brief outline of the work that had been undertaken with the help of a Federal Government grant of $75,000 and $25,000 State Government 2012 Community Partnership Program grant along with money injected by the hall committee before inviting Dr David Gillespie MP, member for Lyne to speak and unveil the two plaques commemorating the event.
GTCC Deputy Mayor Robyn Jenkins representing the Council was also present and added her congratulations and support of the project which had received some assistance from the Council as well.
Following the official proceedings, all present were invited to partake of a delicious afternoon tea which had been prepared and organized by hall catering officer Jenny Cherry and served by helpers Katie, Denyse, Lesley, Sharon and Jasmine.
Many photos were taken of the afternoon to record another part of the hall's history that has spanned over 100 years.
