THE first round of Wingham Women's Bowling Club's triples championship was played in beautiful sunshine with some exciting play, especially from skip Nancy Sandford playing like a woman possessed against skip Karen Carlton.

This team played some very exciting ends.
Karen's team lead on the 13th end 10-7 when Nancy took the jack back to score a very handsome seven shots making the score 14-10. The final score was 16-13.
Congratulations to all teams who played - teams Leadbeater/ Bell had good tight heads to also make it exciting to watch.
Tomorrow will be the semi-finals of the triples championship and there should be some great bowls played again.

It was a cold crisp morning and only six brave souls braved our early start for Saturday morning bowls with Narelle, to play in one game of triples.

This Saturday it's a 9am start in mufti dress (casual and flat soled shoes).
Beginners - we would love to teach you the game of lawn bowls with this friendly bunch.
The annual general meeting and quarterly meeting will be held today at 9.30am sharp.
We hope to see a good roll-up for this important meeting.
Sunday July 27 is nominated mixed pairs, $15 each/player includes barbecue.
Prizes: $300 in cash for first, second and third.
