Winners: The winners of the 2014 Pet Academy Awards were announced on Friday. It was the second year of the Wingham Chronicle run competition and more than 55 entries were received. Cutest Pet is Henry the guinea pig, Most Unusual is Pippin the Ferret and the Pet that most looks like its owner is Renesmee the Guinea Pig.
Sponsorship: Four local events have been named as recipients of Greater Taree City Council sponsorship funding for the 2014/15 financial year. The Chocolate Foot Mountain Bike series, Wingham Akoostik Festival, Wingham Show and Wingham Sesquicentenary of Public Education will all be sponsored.

The Wingham Farmers Market is on Saturday July 5 (first Saturday of every month) at the Wingham Showgrounds from 8am - 12noon.
Tinonee Orchid Nursery annual show
Saturday 10am till 3pm - Guest speakers including David Banks, Scott Barrie, Mike Harrison and Special guest Sam Cowie. Free sausage sizzle and free admission.
Sunday Gates open at 8am - Show opens at 10am - Open day and show with light refreshments available all day, lots of flowers and plant available on the day. Raffle tickets will go to support Retina Australia.
