The launch saw all who were involved in the making of the DVD, along with their family and friends, invited to the premier screening at the Manning Uniting Church with around 80 people attending.
The DVD features interviews from a variety of Aboriginal people who live or have lived in Biripi country talking about their career choices and how they got there.
Woven throughout the DVD is a song about what Aboriginal children, 'Wanna Be', written and performed by a group of local Aboriginal children.
Communities for Children and Sonic Nomad stated that they are very proud to be involved in the creation of 'What I Wanna Be' and point out that the DVD aims to encourage and motivate young people to think about their futures and what opportunities are available to them and to promote positive messages to the entire community.
"Communities for Children Mission Australia is extremely proud to be part of the creation of this DVD," Jo Burge, program manager with Mission Australia, said.
"I know that we didn't go close to reaching all the wonderful Aboriginal role models we have in Taree and we would have to make this film many times over to fit them all in but I am hoping that the community will see this DVD as a positive, local resource and that it is used in many different areas."
With NAIDOC Week beginning this Sunday July 6, Communities for Children is inviting interested businesses to have the DVD playing in their premises for all community to view.
