Sesquicentenary: THE Committee organising the Celebration of 150 years of Public Education in Wingham, will meet at 4pm on Tuesday July 15 at Wingham Public School, Murray Road. There will be a discussion about the Saturday evening official ceremony. With only two months to go, final details are being made.
Glowalman: WINGHAM Showground will once again be home to young horsemanship on Saturday July 12. More than 350 junior riders will take part in the Manning Campdraft, part of the 31st Glowalman Junior tri series event. This year the first of the three events will begin in Nabiac on Tuesday July 8.
Young riders: Local youngsters Nate and Laura Smith of Wingham will both compete in their first Glowalman next week. Nate is 8 and Laura is 7 and they are said to be very excited to be taking part.
Akoostik: The Akoostik Festival has added young musician Harry Hookey to the lineup for the 2014 festival to be held October 17-19 at the Wingham Showground.
Crazy Day: A free bus took Wingham shoppers to Forster yesterday to enjoy Crazy Day.
