The Unguarded Moments exhibition will be officially opened by Cameron Marshall, regional program manager of ABC Mid North Coast.
The exhibition will show concurrently from July 5 to August 3 along with three other exhibitions, which will also open on the same night.
Members of the community are encouraged to come to the opening to support the artists and enjoy the celebration of these extraordinary exhibitions.
Faye Collier has produced a body of work based on the facial expressions of people, captured at unguarded moments.
Initially caught on camera, the expressions were developed into portraits of the emotion themselves.
The use of lino prints to express facial emotions has shown an exaggerated and dramatised intensity.
As a former teacher at Chatham Primary School for 26 years, Faye is familiar to thousands of local children and their families.
Now she has embarked on her new “art” life she has had the opportunity to follow her passion at the TAFE School of Art and Design where she studied printmaking.
“Artists like Faye Collier help to make a vibrant and colourful cultural life for the community of the Manning,” said Sue Mitchell, gallery director.
“Faye is creating art which is both exciting and new.”
