The group flew to Sydney from Brisbane yesterday and travelled by coach to stay at the Golf Club Motor Inn. This morning (Thursday) they have been enjoying a guided tour of the museum with Manning Valley Historical Society president, Barbara Waters. A small break out group was keen to hit the shops of Isabella and Bent Streets before they all re-group and enjoy lunch at the Wingham Services Club.
They will spend the rest of today and tomorrow seeing the local sights. Spirits are high and the visitors seem to be enjoying their stay so far. It seems the homes of Wingham have caught the eye of the visitors with some commenting on how well kept the houses and gardens are.
The tour is the first of two making its way to the Golf Club Motor Inn this week and proprietor Paula Schultz is delighted.
Paula and Dennis celebrated their second anniversary as owners of the Golf Club Motor Inn on Wednesday and the inn also passed its second AAA inspection last week with flying colours. To continue the roll Paula said she has a further nine tours planned for the rest of the year. "It is most exciting not only for us but for Wingham," she said.
