The area was secured and roped off as students started arriving for the day.
It raised concerns among staff members that the drought has taken its toll on trees in the area. It was also speculated that the mini cyclone that ripped through the district two weeks ago may also have compromised trees.
Meanwhile a popular area for student’s to play at Wingham Public School is still closed after storm damage brought down large tree branches on Sunday March 16. The school is waiting for an Arborist to assess the trees.
