DISTRICT singles bowls were played at Wingham on Tuesday with some good bowls played. Thanks to the ladies who helped with morning tea, raffles and marking the games.

TWO games of pennant trials and one social game were played this week.
S Wolters, E Holden, L Gilford and L Cross played J Gosling, T Rushworth, L Dennes and G Bell. This was a fairly even game up to the 10th end with the score being seven all but Lillian's team picked up a few shots on the next 14 ends to win 20-11.
In the other pennant trial game D Polley, J Thorburn, C O'Donnell and N Foy played J Pedron, J Nash, M Hinton and K Carlton. Narelle's team lead from the start and at the 10th end was leading 10-4 but Karen's team fought back to go down 18-12 on the 21st end.
In the social game G Burden played as a swinger with M Hollebone and F Wallace against P Weir and N Platt. Faye's team got away to a big lead of 10-0 after just four ends. Norma's team fought back to be down 15-9 at the 13th end and Faye's team went onto win 20-14 after 18 ends.
Winners with the largest winning margin were L Cross, L Gilford, E Holden and S Wolters.
