This was announced at the opening of the Manning foreshores at Greater Taree City council chambers on Friday by member for Lyne, David Gillespie.
"It's very good news,'' the mayor said.
Council sought the meeting with Mr Truss last month through Dr Gillespie. Cr Hogan said council was prepared to meet Mr Truss anywhere in NSW.
"We can have a face to face meeting with our deputy prime minister, who, as we all recall, made a statement on December 4 that the $11.4 million dollars and all un-contracted works would be honoured by the Abbott government.
"That's why I am looking forward to this meeting.''
Council had requested Dr Gillespie attend a community meeting to discuss the funding issue. However, Cr Hogan said he will see what transpires at the March 13 meeting before pursing the community meeting.
Dr Gillespie is also looking forward to the meeting.
He added that further details will be announced closer to the date.
