Flathead abound

FISHING has been a little quieter this week but there have been enough fish caught to keep the anglers interested.

Plenty of flathead have been caught from the wall at Harrington on flesh bait and whitebait. The best of the fish are 55cm in length.

Bream have been quiet in the lower part of the river but good catches have been made in the Lansdowne River on bait and soft plastics.

Luderick have been quiet except in the backwater where bags of 20 fish have been taken on weed.

Some good bream have turned up on Crowdy Beach south of Abbey's Creek. They have been taking worms and mullet pieces.

Tailor have been quiet with no reports of catches coming in. Outside anglers have been scoring pearl perch to 3.5kgs from the northern grounds while snapper and flathead make up most of the catches.

Bonito are plentiful and can be caught on trolled lures. They make great bait for snapper.
