TransGrid announced this week the public exhibition of the options selection report would now conclude at 5pm, April 20.

The exhibition period was to conclude on March 26, and then was extended to April 5.

Four TransGrid staff, including two members of TransGrid’s executive management, met with the Manning Alliance and Greater Taree City Council representatives on Monday for four hours to discuss the project in detail.

“Meeting with representatives from the Manning Alliance and Taree City Council has gone some way to clarifying the misinformation circulating within the Alliance about this important project,” TransGrid project manager, Ian Goldsworthy said.

“TransGrid has elected to further extend the exhibition period for the Options Selection Report until 5pm April 20 to better understanding the constraints in the proposed corridors, as well as addressing feedback from all community members during corridor selection process.”

After the close of the public exhibition on April 20, TransGrid envisage it will still be several months away from making a decision on a preferred corridor option for the project.

“Transmission lines take many years to deliver and TransGrid is seeking the community’s feedback early in the process to help determine possibilities and constraints in each corridor option.

“Each submission received will be carefully considered and we welcome local knowledge and input into the corridor selection process.”

Hard copies of the report are also on display at the following councils: Great Lakes Council; Gloucester Shire Council; Greater Taree City Council.
