Tinonee resident Keith Royston McMartin sadly passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021 aged 84 years. Left to mourn his passing is loving wife Lynette, "Lyn" and family members Allison and Anthony, Graham and Kellie. He was a devoted grandpa to Alexander and William. Also he will be sadly missed by sisters Pamela and Elizabeth.
Keith's funeral service was held at the Community of Christ Church, Taree on Tuesday, November 30 at 10am and was followed by burial in the Failford Cemetery, Nabiac.
Donations in lieu of flowers were taken for the work of Taree Lions Club of which Keith had been a long time active member.
Sincere condolences
Tinonee also mourned the passing of Herbert Thomas James Dawson, known to all as 'Bert", who passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. Bert was well known for his community involvement and was a member of Tinonee Friendship Group and had been an active person enjoying his rowing on the Manning River up until just a few years ago.
Bert always had a smile on his face and a friendly word to say whenever I met him.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Runa and his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his many neighbours and friends.
Bert's funeral was held on Thursday, December 2 at the Manning Great Lakes Memorial Gardens.
To Runa and family we extend our sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers on your loss.
Council roadworks
Council workers have been busy doing some patch up work on the Tinonee Road Road between Ridge Road toward the Peg Leg Creek Bridge, cleaning the culverts and hopefully filling up the many potholes that have started to appear along that stretch of road.
There are at least four large potholes in Manchester Street, between Peveril Street and down to the school and hopefully these will be on the 'to do list'.
Council elections
Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall will be the venue for this coming Saturday's council elections, and it is hoped everyone will be able to cast their votes without the rainy weather causing any problems. I am hoping to get mine in early so I don't have to wait outside especially as we are still having COVID-19 restrictions to adhere to.
Happy wedding anniversary wishes
Long distance wedding anniversary wishes were sent to my son Andrew and his wife Sharona who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on Thursday, December 2.
Unfortunately with current restrictions we haven't been able to take the drive to Queensland to see them and the grandchildren but hopefully things will settle down and we can make the drive real soon.
