MidCoast Council is seeking feedback from the community on an action plan designed to build child-safe practices across its organisation.

"Ensuring children feel safe at all times when in our facilities and accessing our services is an important priority for us," council's general manager, Adrian Panuccio says.
In 2018, council committed to become a child safe organisation, when it adopted its child protection policy.
"Since then we've developed a draft action plan that will guide our efforts to ensuring we are child-safe," Mr Panuccio.said.
"Our draft Child Safe Action Plan outlines actions council will take to ensure its meets the 10 standards which form the basis of new legislation as part of the NSW Child-Safe Scheme.

"The Child Safe Action Plan is about making council activities and services child safe so we're asking our community to let us know if there are any other actions relating to council activities they think we should include in the draft plan."

"We're interested in hearing from everyone who may be affected by this action plan, so there's a special feedback hub just for kids on the have your say page too.
"We encourage parents and carers to look over the plan with their children, and for children to express how they feel about the Child Safe Action Plan."
