The high testing numbers in the Mid Coast Local Government Area (LGA) the past week continue to reflect the emergence of COVID-19 in the area.

However, the numbers of COVID cases compared to testing rates is significantly lower.
Between November 17 and 24, 7298 COVID tests were conducted in the Mid Coast LGA.
Between those same dates, the Mid Coast LGA recorded 84 COVID cases.
Positive COVID test results may not be included until a day or two after being tested, however generally around 1.15 per cent of people getting tested in the past week have tested positive.
Hunter New England Population Health public health physician, Dr David Durrheim said Hunter New England Health is continuing to urge those with symptoms in the Mid North Coast to come forward for testing, given the COVID-19 cases in the area.
