Students were allowed to create their own designs or use the internet as inspiration. The design was then drawn onto purchased blank decks and painted with acrylic and gouache paints, and the ever-popular Posca Paint Pens.
The students did a fantastic job on these beautiful works of art, which they can now take home and use as a custom skateboard or a wall decoration, said the photography teacher, Tara Smith.
"I really enjoyed designing the skateboard in art class, mainly because there were no rules to how we designed it. It was completely up to us," said student Bonnie Minns.
"Our project for art was to design our own skateboard. It was a fun project to do and to watch our ideas finally finished on the boards," said student Abby Van-Veen.
"It was a really fun challenge to design our skateboards and to be given the freedom to be as creative as we wanted," said student Blake Matheson.
