May I state first up that I am fully vaccinated. But that is my choice, based on the advice of my doctor.

I expect I will get the booster jab in due course. Again that is my choice, freely made.
But I know there are many people out there who for various reasons do not wish to be vaccinated.
It is a cornerstone of our way of life that people have the right for personal reasons to make a free decision. Every Anzac Day we celebrate the supreme sacrifice of thousands of Australians who gave their lives so that we could have that freedom.
Personally I view these vaccination mandates as a total denial of our basic freedoms. And to think of extending it to children as young as five is totally unforgivable. There is no basis in any of the medical advice out there to warrant it.
Not so long ago Australia was one of the countries that imposed sanctions on South Africa for its system of Apartheid. I challenge anyone out there to tell me that these mandates are any different to Apartheid.
As with South Africa we will create a separate class of second class citizens, and truly underprivileged children.
We are told we must "close the gap" with our Aboriginal people. So why should we create another gap in our people.
There is no doubt in my mind that certain state premiers are holding the country to ransom for purely political reasons. And these mandates are just another arrow in their quiver to increase their powers.
The PM needs to step forward and stop these people from from irrevocably harming or destroying our democracy.
