This will be the last market at Old Bar before Christmas. Don't miss the opportunity to pick up a bargain, Christmas gift or fresh produce. It is being conducted as a COVID-19 safe event, so please check in.
Resilience Old Bar
Most organisations in Old Bar have been advised of the existence of Resilience Old Bar and what it is trying to achieve.
The recent meeting was happy to welcome Karen Anderson, who is the recovery support officer, Mid Coast NSW, National Recovery and Resilience Agency. She spoke about her role.
Karen plans to be part of the group as the work being undertaken by Resilience Old Bar will dovetail with her role.
In relation to evacuation sites for large animals and pets, Local Land Services is responsible for identifying suitable sites and these will be advised just prior to the need for any evacuation rather than provide a list of possibles in advance. Some sites may not be suitable in some instances if a risk would be posed by the impending emergency.
Christmas luncheon
Craft at Old Bar's next meeting is on Wednesday, December 1 at the Old Bar Soldiers' Memorial Hall for the group's celebratory Christmas luncheon.
There will be two small and simple Christmas decorations included in the workshop. Kits will be supplied. If you weren't at the last meeting and unsure what to bring for the luncheon please ring 0438 655 005.
CTC reduces hours
Commencing December 1, the Old Bar Beach Community Technology Centre (CTC) will be open from 10am to 2pm, five days a week, excluding public holidays. This has become necessary because the volunteer availability no longer meets the needs of a full roster.
This situation will be reviewed from time to time, especially if more volunteers come forward and want to help this community operated service.
