The parade down Victoria Street, which was also the Pacific Highway at that time, featured the "longest load on the Mid North Coast", referring to a loaf of bread by Taree's own Cobbity Farm bakery.

Ken Warby and his Spirit of Australia joined the parade. Ken went on to set the world water speed record in the Spirit of Australia two years later - the record still stands today.
