From October 13 to October 20 the MidCoast LGA has recorded 5440 COVID tests.
A drive-through COVID testing clinic opened at Taree Showground on Monday, October 18 and will operate from 8am - 4pm, seven days a week. No appointment is necessary and swabbing can be done for all ages.
Myall Lakes MP, Stephen Bromhead said the testing clinic at Taree Showground swabbed up to 1000 people on Monday, October 18, and said capacity for testing would be increased from Tuesday, October 19.
For the first time Harrington has COVID cases, recording five new cases today, October 22 as the Mid Coast Local Government Area (LGA) recorded nine total.
This brings the total number to 119 in the Mid Coast LGA (as of October 22) since the outbreak in the Hunter New England Health District on August 5.
Hunter New England Local Health District (HNEH) is continuing to urge the community to get vaccinated and tested for COVID-19, with 61 new cases diagnosed to 8pm last night (Thursday, October 21) and fragments of the virus detected in local sewage in Guyra, Moree, Quirindi, Old Bar and Harrington.
