This brings the total number of cases to 97 in the MidCoast LGA since the outbreak began in the Hunter New England Health District (HNEH) on August 5.

Of the cases in the MidCoast LGA today (October 19):
- Three in Wingham
- Two in Taree
- One in Glenthorne
A drive-through COVID testing clinic opened at Taree Showground on Monday, October 18. It will operate from 8am - 4pm, seven days a week. No appointment is necessary and swabbing can be done for all ages.
Myall Lakes MP, Stephen Bromhead said the testing clinic at Taree Showground swabbed up to 1000 people on Monday, October 18, and said capacity for testing will be increased from Tuesday, October 19.
Update on the COVID exposure schools in the Manning
Chatham High School was made non-operational on Monday, October, 18 due to a confirmed COVID case, and will be non-operational again on Tuesday, October 19 for the on-site attendance of staff and students to allow time for contact tracing and cleaning.
Wingham Public School has reopened on Tuesday, October 19 after being closed for thorough cleaning and contact tracing.
The students and staff from Wingham Public identified as contacts have been notified and asked to self-isolate for the required period.
