Two men in their 40s were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle following an accident on the Pacific Highway at Pampoolah, south of Taree this morning (Sunday, October 17).

Around 9.30am today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Pampoolah, when two man were injured, one seriously, in the single vehicle accident.
A second Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked from Tamworth to the accident as both men were trapped for sometime before being released by emergency services.
A 45 year old man was treated on scene by NSWA paramedics and the helicopter critical care medical team for serious multiple injuries. He was placed into a medically induced coma due to his condition.
A 44 year old man was also treated for a seriously fractured arm.
Both patients were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
The 45 year old male was in a serious condition whilst the younger man was in a stable condition.
