The club's inaugural challenge, held in May, attracted more than 100 starters from throughout NSW and Queensland. Profits from the event went to flood relief projects in the Manning Valley.
The club chose Manning Point as the headquarters for the challenge as this area was hard hit in the devastating March floods. Manning Point Bowling Club was the major sponsor and hosted the presentation.
Sydneysider Rylee Field was the standout performer, winning both the 20km and 40km events.
"We want to hold the event again next year,'' Manning Cycle Club secretary Tanya Cross said.
"We're still waiting on the go-ahead from AusCycling (formerly Cycling NSW) but we don't foresee any problems there.''
Mrs Cross said the club is keen to again use the courses at Manning Point and Coolongolook and doesn't think there will be any major changes to the format.
"Everything we off pretty well this year,'' she said.
Race director Ivor Thomas described the inaugural challenge as a success, despite some problems with rain on the opening day at Manning Point.
