STARTING with the Bakewell Haulage Krambach Cup Day TAB meeting for Manning Valley Race Club at Taree on Friday, racegoers will be allowed trackside under strict COVID 19 protocols.
Allowing patrons back couldn't come at a more opportune time with so many major race meetings on the calendar.
The two-day Port Macquarie Cup meeting on Friday and Saturday, boasting about $500,000 prizemoney, just missed going ahead with racegoers and the club, like many, will sorely miss the money generated with ticket and hospitality sales.
Clubs rely on this revenue to boost prizemoney and pay for infrastructure to benefit racegoers.
Port's two biggest days involve the cup and the New Year's Day meeting during the holidays.
Manning Valley Race Club looks set to have crowds involved with two of its very popular meetings, the one on Melbourne Cup day and its Taree Gold Cup meeting on November 21.
Revenue raised benefits patrons through having all the bells and whistles associated with the popular social occasion.
Manning Valley Race Club executive officer, Helen Sinclair (JP), has outlined what restrictions will be in place this Friday and other meetings until notified otherwise.
- Patrons must be double vaccinated and able to show proof to security.
- Social distancing will be in place at all times.
- Face masks must be worn inside (N95)--no material face masks.
- QR code sign in.
- Remain seated whilst eating/drinking.
