The NSW Deputy Premier, John Barilaro's message to the MidCoast local government area (LGA) is to stay local this coming school holidays even though lockdown has been lifted.

On Thursday, September 16, Mr Barilaro assured the MidCoast LGA will remain out of lockdown even with the second positive case in Booral which was announced on Sunday September 12 after lockdown was lifted.
"To hold a region with a population of 97,000 people locked down based on what was a very minimal exposure, we applied the same logic and again the MidCoast continues to be free," Mr Barilaro said.
Although this remains the case, the NSW Deputy Premier reinforced how easy it is for a region to go back into lockdown if the right measures are not taken by the community.
"This is not the school holidays to go and have a holiday.
"Now that we have lifted the restrictions for some LGAs, just enjoy that time locally and at home," Mr Barilaro said.
Update on the Taree Supermarket COVID exposure site
According to local MP Stephen Bromhead, on Wednesday September 15 all three Woolworths workers who were exposed tested negative and the two Jack & Co workers have also tested negative.
"It was decided on Friday evening (September 10) the MidCoast LGA would come out of lockdown and that remains the case now and into the future," Mr Bromhead said.
"However, if we get community transmission of COVID-19 in our region, that could change."
