The scene at Taree's CBD was a little different this week with people browsing retail stores and eating in at restaurants and cafe's after the lockdown was lifted in the Mid Coast region last Friday evening (September 10).

Raw Sugar Cafe in Victoria Street were among the businesses that closed for four weeks during the lockdown.
"It was very hard. Takeaway for us wasn't viable," Raw Sugar's Shayne Tull said.
"Because retail was open in previous lockdowns we could sort of get away with takeaway. But with retail being closed (in the recent lockdown), that really impacted our foot traffic."

The cafe opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, September 15, with public health orders in place.
"It has been amazing, everyone has been really supportive," Shayne said.
Raw Sugar Taree regular Scott Ray said it had been a hard few weeks not being able to visit the cafe for his regular coffee but he's happy to be able to sit in and enjoy again.
Iguana Surfwear Taree, Yarads Menswear Taree and Manning Shoe Store Taree are among the retail businesses to open back to regular hours on Victoria Street.
"It is great to be open, there are people out and about and we are so pleased to see our regular customers back in store," Iguana Surfwear Taree's Jo Yarad said.
Mid Coast businesses can now participate in the Shop Local program, by loading and selling the cards, and by accepting them as payment in their business.
