Unfortunately, the number of vaccinations attended has not been made available by ISOS, but the hub went a long way in ensuring residential aged care facilities in the Mid Coast LGA meeting the mandate of having all staff vaccinated by September 17, 2021
A Public Health (COVID-19 Aged Care Facilities) Order 2021 commenced on August 26, 2021 with the order requiring staff (including contractors) of a residential aged care facility and persons engaged by the operator to provide services to have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination by September 17, 2021.
From this date, evidence of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination will be required by staff and contractors in order to enter or remain employed by the aged care facility.
With the date closing in, and Pfizer hard to get, many staff and contractors have been able to be vaccinated during this hub.
Executive care manager of Bushland Health Group, Jodi Carey, said that the organisation had adopted the "Proud to Protect" movement and is proud to be able to assist aged care staff receive their vaccination.
