Whilst sitting at home in isolation like good little New South Welshman, I cannot help but consider the impost that COVID-19 has had on all of us in the past 18 months.

Every resident in this great State has had their life affected in some way and I wonder if we will ever return to the pre- COVID-19 life we enjoyed.
We in the Mid North Coast have not (thank God) been effected by the virus and I consider a huge vote of thanks must go to those who are vigilant in their protection of us.
We must acknowledge the tireless work that is being done by the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, paramedics in our area.
I am a retired paramedic and have been involved in many situations where our normal routine has been affected by serious situations that have required additional resources and has changed the whole the working environment. Certainly this has been the case for 18 months and remains a constantly changing challenge.
The people of Taree have behaved in a very respectful and responsible manner, observing all the restrictions and requirements we have been given.
The doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied hospital staff have embraced the challenges and done so with good humour, purpose and absolute dedication to provide the service that makes us proud.
Please give the dedicated medics a big thank you for their efforts whenever you see them for keeping us safe.
