All aspects of the health order from QR codes to face mask compliance are being checked on construction sites around the area, said Taree police spokesman.
According to the NSW government health orders, work is permitted at constructions sites in local government areas of concern provided occupiers of these construction sites comply with the capacity limits.
Construction sites that are permitted to operate in regional and rural NSW can have the greater of either one person per four metres squared at the site or a maximum of 25 persons at the site at any one time.
Face masks must be worn in indoor and outdoor areas of construction sites, except when an exemption applies such as when wearing a face mask creates a safety issue or there is a worksite emergency when working in an outdoor area.
The NSW Police may also issue on-the-spot fines to individuals of:
- $1000 for breach of a public health order
- $3000 for participating in an outdoor gathering of more than 2 people
- $500 for failure to comply with a direction to wear or carry a mask for those aged 18 years or older
- In the case of any corporation, the maximum penalty is $55,000 and a further $27,500 penalty may apply for each day the offence continues.
