Eight local government areas went into snap lockdown yesterday (August 5) at 5pm after there were five confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the Hunter district.
The Gloucester tip will be closed this weekend along with some of council's southern service centres in Tea Gardens and Stroud being closed due to the impacts of the lockdown.
Services impacted are:
- Tea Gardens customer service point
- Stroud customer service point and library
- Tea Gardens Library will be closed Friday August 6 and Saturday August 7
- Gloucester Waste Management Facility is closed closed until Tuesday August 10
Council has advised that staffing issues have resulted in the unexpected weekend closure of the Gloucester tip and apologised for the inconvenience.

"Given lots of people head to the tip on a weekend it isn't great timing," council's manager engagement, communication and education, Marcelle Boyling said.
"We also have the Stroud customer service point and library shut for a week as a result of the flow on effects of the Hunter lockdown."
The community is reminded that anyone who has visited the Newcastle and Hunter locked down LGAs since Saturday, July 31 will need to adhere to the stay at home orders.
