The power packed vocals and soaring harmonies. The wonderful choreographed moves of the singers. The passion and the pain of love gone wrong, or the jubilation of love going right! The sequins and style of those famous songstresses.
We're going to be serving up all that and more, when Soul Sisters hits the MEC stage this Saturday, August 7 at 8pm.
Travelling from COVID free Port Macquarie are local artists Simone Berry, Erin McCudden, Sarah Morabito and Cate Storen, following a sell-out season at Port's Glasshouse Theatre.
These four fabulous songbirds wowed the Hastings with their intimate showcase of all female soul classics from the 60s and 70s.
They are veterans of the live theatre scene and have come together again for a live performance featuring the songs of Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, Patti Labelle and many more of the 20th century's finest divas.
Together the women are a musical tour de force, bringing stupendous vocals, high energy moves and unique takes on old classics.
It's an exhilarating combination of solid gold soul hits and sparkling talent right here at the MEC, all delivered in a COVID safe environment.
It's sassy and fun and you'll be grooving in your seats as the memories come rolling back.
Book at theMEC.com.au, phone 6592 5466, or come in to the Box Office Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 1pm.
Rescheduled shows
As the Sydney lockdown extends, some shows are being rescheduled to take place later this year or in 2022.
Local shows like the Taree Arts Council's Mama Mia are unaffected and are currently still on track to run in October and November.
We urge you to continue to purchase tickets, and to show your support for live entertainment and the casts and crew members involved in productions.
Remember that you can still use your Dine and Discover vouchers, as the scheme has been extended to August 31. You can buy tickets to any show on sale, regardless of the performance date.
If you are unsure about the status of the show you have tickets for, please feel free to call us on 6592 5466.
We remind you that masks are compulsory indoors at the MEC for all people over 12 years unless you are eating or drinking while seated.
