MVNS received a Bendigo Bank, Bushfire Community Recovery Grant to deliver a 12 month program which focuses on validating the experiences of and the role played by women in the bushfires.
The project is being run by Lisa Hort who has extensive experience working and supporting women and has extensive experience facilitating diverse educational and community programming in her roles as community engagement facilitator, creative ageing practitioner, creative storyteller facilitator and as a volunteer in the NSW Rural Fire Service as a community engagement facilitator.
Lisa is in the process of looking at engagement opportunities within the various communities to inform the direction of the project. A part of the initial process will also be to identify key areas to hold these gatherings.
The first gathering is at the Old Courthouse, Farquhar Street, Wingham on July 21 from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
RSVP is essential for COVID safe planning. RSVP by calling 6553 5121.
The next meeting will be held at Rainbow Flat, with date and venue to be announced.
