As you can imagine, it's an arduous task for many touring artists and companies, as it means that they have to realign dates for every theatre where they were booked throughout the state.
Consequently, this process of confirming new dates is taking time, and we extend our sincere thanks to ticket holders for their patience and forbearance.
This is a situation that we hoped would not arise, but in the current COVID circumstances, it's necessary once again to display our resilience and adapt to the unpredictable times in which we find ourselves.
We will be contacting all affected ticket holders by email and phone to inform them of changed dates, and to ascertain whether they can still attend. You will be offered the option of transferring to the new date or requesting a refund.
We are happy to report that, where possible, most patrons are choosing to transfer their tickets in a gesture of support for the artists, crews and presenters whose lives have been thrown into turmoil by new restrictions and uncertainty. It's also a sign that audiences are hungry for live entertainment and are eager to get back into venues to see shows.
At time of writing we can confirm that the following shows have new dates:
Goodfellas: originally Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 7:30pm - now Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7:30pm
The Celebration of Swing: originally Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 2pm - now Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2pm
1927: originally Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 7:30pm - now Sunday, April 10, 2022
Celtic Illusion: originally Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 7:30 pm - now Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 7:30pm.
The best way to keep informed about shows which are being rescheduled is to regularly check the Manning Entertainment Centre website and Facebook page, where we'll be updating information as it comes to hand.
There are a few new COVID safe protocols when you are visiting the MEC, including wearing masks indoors and checking in with our QR code. Safety is still our top priority, and you can feel confident that we are maintaining all aspects of our COVID safe plan, which is available to read on our website.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding, and thank one and all for the ongoing support for performing arts and artists.
