This year the café raised $1221 over a week to be donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation. This was achieved by donating $1 from every coffee purchased to the cause. Usually they café sells the Live for Liv scarves, but this year they were unable to as deliveries were held up by COVID-19.
The Live for Liv scarves have now turned up, and will be on sale at the Café for $25 each from Thursday, July 9.
Last year, the café raised $3200 for the cause, but Nerida says she is still happy with the amount they raised this year.
"In general, people aren't spending what they have in previous years," Nerida said.
"I guess what people are saying on the news is correct, it's COVID fatigue. People are cautious."
Manning author and cricket historian Les Eastaway helped out by donating copies of his book to Café Thyme to sell for $30 each, with all proceeds going to the fundraising effort.
"Id like to say a thank you to Les who put his books in. It was so generous of him," Nerida said.
Thank you to all the people that came in and supported us, even though it is a tough time for a lot of people.

"And thank you to all the people that came in and supported us, even though it is a tough time for a lot of people."
Nerida reports that choosing to wear Mark Hughes Foundation caps instead of beanies this year was a good move.
"It was a lot cooler working in the caps! But now we've gone straight into masks, which is really hot," she said.
The 2021 NRL Beanie For Brain Cancer round raised a record $4.1 million for the Mark Hughes Foundation for brain cancer research. This well exceeded the aim of $3 million.
Included in the $4.1 million were funds raised by 24 people who trekked from Sydney to Newcastle, and a $1 million donation from the McCloy Family Foundation, along with sales of 160,000 Mark Hughes Foundation beanies during the campaign.
On June 17 the Newcastle Herald reported that the Mark Hughes Foundation had pledged a $7.5 million five-year philanthropic commitment to the University of Newcastle ahead of the NRL Beanie for Brain Cancer round to help establish a brain cancer team at the University of Newcastle.
