Guests of honour were General Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Lynne Cosgrove.
"We were all totally at ease with this delightful down to earth couple," event orgarniser and former Rotary governor, Ian Dyball said.
Sir Peter Cosgrove upheld Rotary as an organisation that leads the community.
"We love you for it; the community thinks the world of you as a service organisation," he said, advised those present that "you cannot communicate with the people you care for by Zoom, you must zoom yourself into their presence."
In introducing Sir Peter, Ian Dyball told of the outstanding leadership Sir Peter Cosgrove gave to the international peace force in East Timor as the country moved towards independence.
Sir Peter, a leader on the world stage, talked from his experience about service, leadership and volunteering.
"It was a most interesting, engaging and thought provoking address, complete with his signature sense of humour," Ian said.
The meeting closed with everyone singing Let There Be Peace on Earth, reciting the Rotary Four Way Test and singing the National Anthem.
"Just as the evening was concluding, there was a shower of rain. Someone was heard to say that Taree was crying with joy for what was an outstanding celebration of the Centenary of Rotary in Australia," Ian said.
