Ormsby House is a hive of activity during the week with a range of different pastimes taking place, including indoor bowling, cards and table games (including mahjong), art and Tai Chi.
And if there is an activity you would particularly like to try out or are interested in, the organisers from Manning Valley Senior Citizen's Association are open for suggestions. There is plenty of space and time slots available to add new ventures.
Currently Manning Valley Senior Citizen's Association's membership is at around 110 people, with ages ranging from 60 and above.
The COVID-19 pandemic has reduced the numbers of people coming along, and members are getting older and less agile.
The Manning Valley Senior Citizen's Association is keen to let let the 50+ age group they are more than welcome to join, even though they aren't considered senior citizens.
Activities organised by the Manning Valley Senior Citizens Association have been taking place at Ormsby House since 1984.
The schedule of current events is as follows:
- Monday: 9am-2pm, indoor bowling, and creative art group from 12pm.
- Tuesday: 8.30am-9.20am Tai Chi, 9.30am-1pm card and table games, Mahjong.
- Thursday: 9am-2pm indoor bowling, 9.45am-1pm Bolivia (a new card game being taught and played).

In addition there is a library that is available for the use of all members.

"What it is allowing people to do is they don't always get the quiet time, or they get distracted at home, it gives them time to come in and put in a few hours and achieve," MVSCA committee member, David Raw said.
Anyone aged 50 or above is more than welcome to pop in and have a look.
"We'd like to reach out to as many people as we can to let them know there is something there, it's social, there's cups of tea, coffee, bikkies. There's a social aspect as well. Besides being busy you get to meet new people, they're all likeminded."
Membership is only $5 annually.
