Guest speakers will be Taree Universities Campus (TUC) CEO Donna Ballard, and TUC chairperson Dr Alison McIntosh.
It's been an exciting time on the Taree Campus as its first student intake was welcomed and settled.
It has, without doubt, been an interesting journey getting this far. Although TUC has made a sterling start as it negotiates its way through the labyrinth of requirements with its various tertiary education partners, even more exciting times are ahead.
Alison has been involved from the outset, firstly in preparing the application to the federal government under its Regional University Centres program and, some 12 months later in September 2020, signing off for funding with the Department of Education. She will briefly talk about the reasons for TUC and how this came to fruition.
At the same time as funding became available, Donna Ballard was appointed as CEO and, in this role, she is responsible for all operations undertaken by TUC; a huge task but one she relishes. Donna will give some insights into what has happened over the past nine months or so, where TUC is at now, and some longer term strategies and dreams.
The meeting starts at 6.30pm at Club Taree. Cost is $30 which includes a two-course meal with complimentary tea and coffee after the meal.
