The June meeting of Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Inc was held Tuesday, June 8 and attended by five members with a number of apologies received also.
The committee was pleased to receive notice that it had been successful with its application to Essential Energy Community Funding and will shortly be receiving $200 to assist with the hall maintenance.
The members undertook a catering task last Saturday for a delightful lady who was celebrating her 90th birthday, which actually fell on Friday, June 11.
Shirley was joined by 40 adult family members and friends and five youngsters, some of whom had travelled a long way to be with her at the lunch.
Daughters Michelle and Wendy had decorated the hall with a huge balloon arrangement and gold 90 on the stage and the tables were set with beautiful flowers together with lavender and lilac coloured serviettes.
A beautifully made and decorated cake, the artistic work of daughter Wendy, was cut by Shirley as the guests sang her Happy Birthday and many photos were taken to remember this special milestone in Shirley's life.
May you enjoy many more to come Shirley.
The hall has a further two catering bookings in July and these will be discussed at the July meeting to be held Tuesday, July 13.

Tinonee Historical Society
Due to the cooler evenings it has been decided by all members that we move the winter meeting times to daytime and therefore the June meeting has been set down for Tuesday 29 commencing at 9am (prior to opening time) and we hope that this will make it more convenient members to join in.
Holiday weekend
I trust that all my readers had an enjoyable safe and warm holiday weekend. Already we have reached the halfway mark in the year; it seems to go quicker every year. It must be that I am getting older.
Happy birthday wishes
Birthday wishes go out to three of my Wallamba CWA friends, Margaret who celebrated a Big O one and Jenny who shared the same date of June 2, and to Fay who celebrated on June 5 - hope you all had a happy day with family and friends.
