The 2BOB Radio event will take place on Saturday, September 4 at Taree Park instead of its usual spot during the June long weekend.
The new date brings a new focus and a new coordinator with Timothy Ohl taking the reins.
"This year we'll be relaunching the (radio) station at the event bringing more live entertainment and extending the hours to embrace the lengthening sunlight that spring brings," Timothy said.
It will once again be all about the five R's (Reduce Reuse Recycle Renew and Repurpose) with the addition of Recovery and Renewal. The Envirofair will reflect the impact that drought, fire and floods has had on the community and the environment in the Manning Valley over the recent years, while the Cultural Festival will embrace the community's diversity. There will be a variety of market and food stalls, information displays, kids activities and a lineup of local musical acts and dance performances.
Newly appointed volunteer coordinator of the radio station and festival team member, Brendan Parker noted how much things have changed in regard to environmental issues since the event started in the 90s.
"Now they are increasingly becoming a part of mainstream dialogue. Look around now at what has made it into our everyday - recycling, single use plastic bags are gone, renewable energy everywhere and now we are seeing the commercial rollout of electric vehicles," Brendan said.
The festival has received a financial boost with a grant from The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment - Crown Lands to help provide a COVID- safe festival.
Interested stallholders are invited to contact 2BOB via its facebook page or email admin@2bobradio.org.au or call 6552 6200.
