On Saturday afternoon, May 15 a man in his 50s was seriously injured in a motorbike incident in Laguna, near Cessnock. Also that afternoon, a second aircrew attended a single vehicle incident on the Thunderbolts Way about 20km south of Nowendoc. A man in his 50s was airlifted to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Earlier that day the service airlifted a man in his 60s who had been seriously injured in Merriwa when he fell from his horse.
Overnight Friday, May 14 two missions were flown.
At around midnight the Belmont based aircrew was called to Bulahdelah to assist a woman in her 30s. Earlier in the evening the woman had been injured in a heavy tackle during a soccer match, suffering neck pain. The aircraft rendezvoused with local NSW Ambulance Paramedics at Bulahdelah Showground to airlift the lady to Newcastle for further assessment and treatment at the John Hunter Hospital.
An emergency call was received from Monkerai near Dungog also on Friday night after a woman in her 40s was seriously injured when her motor vehicle hit a kangaroo. She was treated on scene for multiple leg and facial injuries before being flown to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Also on Saturday police issued an urgent call to identify a boy found by police in Taree.
Just before 11am Saturday, officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District patrolling Commerce Street located the boy, believed to be aged between three and four.
About 1.30pm, the boy was identified and was reunited with his family.
