Sponsored by the Wingham Spinners and Craft Group, the fair will offer for sale an exquisite range of products hand crafted in the Manning Valley.
More than 40 stalls will showcase the fine work of local artists and artisans who are specialists in their field, including woodworkers, leather makers, jewellers, basket weavers, ceramic artists and many more, not to mention wonderful hand crafted fibre creations.
The commitment and dedication to their craft is reflected in every piece.
For the first time Deep Water Shark Gallery will be among those displaying their Aboriginal art. Deep Water Shark Gallery is run by Biripi Elder, Uncle Russell Saunders and his daughter Raechel. Their inspiration is derived from the flora and fauna of the Manning Valley, along with its superb sunrises and sunsets. Russell, of course, is well known in the Manning and has recently completed three large murals for a local preschool to add to the numerous murals and wood sculptures displayed throughout the region.
Rachael, is also a talented artist producing earrings, among other items, while his sons, Jeremy and Carey, have also contributed significantly to the range of items, including hand painted artworks on canvas, wood and clay sculptures, boomerangs, tap sticks, didjeridus, mugs, earrings, necklaces and more.
This is only one of the stalls that will be displaying their work for sale so go along to the PCYC on Commerce St, Taree on Sunday, June 6 between 9am and 3pm. Entry is free but you might be tempted to buy a raffle ticket in one of the superb hand crafted items.
