Jane is the daughter of Robert and Margaret Murray of Wingham, who have just recently moved into Taree. She was schooled at St Joseph's Primary School Wingham for years five and six, and went to high school at St Clare's in Taree.
After high school Jane completed a Bachelor of Design, Fashion and Textile at University of Technology, Sydney. She relocated to Taree after studying to begin her career at Hot Tuna.
Jane has been with HanesBrands now for around 17 years, leading the Bonds brand, and other portfolio brands such as Berlei, Jockeys and Rio. Innerwear encompasses not only underwear, but socks, babywear, trackies, hoodies and other comfy basics.
Jane's new role as creative design officer will see her overseeing the innerwear design group across the US, Europe and Australia.
"It's a pretty exciting new role and opportunity for the innerwear group," Jane said.
"It's more of a creative director role - design strategy, coming up with creative concepts for each of the brands, and working with and building a creative team in each region to be able to design and develop product for each brand.
"I'm looking forward to working on the big label brands, as well as working across the global team with a team of creatives and innovators. It's incredible to work with such an inspiring, diverse innovative talented group. I get a lot of satisfaction out of that and know that we can come up with pretty amazing design concepts for the world.
It will also be a great adventure for my family as well.

"It is a pretty exciting team who are all very passionate about what they do.
"It is a bit of a dream come true to not just work on such a portfolio of iconic brands, but be able to influence the direction and the strategy that we are going to take them on as we go forward.
"I'm overjoyed really."
Jane has been working in her new role since March, however, because of the pandemic, she has not yet been able to make the necessary move to New York and is working from Sydney.
She will eventually be relocating with her husband, Scott, and youngest child, who is 12 years old, while her two older children complete their university education in Australia.
Luckily, the move, when it finally comes, will not be too daunting as Jane has already spent some time in the HanesBrands US office.
"I've spent a lot of time in the US over my 20+ year career. I travel quite a lot so I'm quite familiar with New York, and the office there and the people, which is really lovely.
"It will also be a great adventure for my family as well," she said.
