One prang on Forster Bridge, with half a day's delay and they are crying for a new bridge!
Taree has needed a new bridge for years. Martin Bridge is too narrow for today's vehicle.
Trucks have to stop at either end to let each other through, which hold all the traffic up. Buses have a couple of inches!
When the floods occured, we had NO access to the bridge for weeks on end.
We also had delays for emergency vehicles, but for much more than half a day. And they already have a hospital at Forster - so any hospital money should go to Manning Base Hospital.
They certainly need it.
The staff do a massive job to cope as it is. A second hospital would divert funds away from our main public hospital for the region.
Ridiculous.They might lose votes with this nonsense!
