A come and try day held at Omaru on Sunday attracted around 150 people and all is now in readiness for the season to get underway.
"I thought it was really important to get going this year after we missed last season due to COVID,'' co-ordinator Matt Zarb of Taree said.
The said the program is open to school age children up to 18.
"Although we have a couple there who are even younger,'' he said.
While there's no organised competition, Matt said games will get underway from around 9am each Sunday.
He said Rainbow Warriors is open to any child with special needs.
"It's about getting the kids out there running around and enjoying themselves,'' he explained.
Rainbow Warriors started four years ago and has the full backing of Football Mid North Coast.
Matt said the club would take part in two gala days in Newcastle this year while they'll also host a gala.
The program will run until September.
