After the horrific fires of 2019, Endangered Productions raised money through the Australian Cultural Fund to tour isolated, fire affected towns. This project was thwarted because of COVID.
Once they were able to perform again, their artistic director, Christine Logan - an ex Taree High School student - contacted Kim McDonald in Bobin about bringing their show to their School of Arts Hall.
Peter Schouten AM, a local artist and talented cook, has planned a five course degustation menu to be served while Endangered Productions perform.
The Reverend Brian Ford from the Wingham Anglican Church has welcomed the troupe into the church hall at Wingham to rehearse on Saturday afternoon before they head off to Bobin. The rehearsal will be open to the public from 2.30pm so the Wingham community can watch the creative process of making music.
After the Bobin performance was organised, the floods caused havoc in the Manning Valley. Endangered Productions thought the community might benefit from the enjoyment of a performance in the Taree area.
Rachel Piercy, director of the Manning Regional Art Gallery, has organised for the troupe to perform there on Sunday, April 25 at 1pm. The Friends of the Gallery are hosting this event and providing a scrumptious afternoon tea for $15.
The Coffee Cantata is the latest work from Endangered Productions and Bobin and Taree will be the first to see itt. In 1734, J S Bach wrote this secular cantata about the temptation and power of coffee - satirising a growing fad in Leipzig. In Endangered Production's modern adaptation, an irate father admonishes his coffee cocktail-addicted daughter and tries to forbid her going to the local coffee house/bar.
