Take for example this throwback gallery to Anzac Day 1976.
Forty-five years later, the march and commemorative ceremony remains and will do years to come.
This ceremony would have marked 61 years since the landing at Gallipoli.
In 2020, things were certainly different given the COVID-19 pandemic. All services were cancelled with the public encouraged instead to stand on their driveways and face east at 6am on Anzac Day to show support.
It's a better outcome in 2021, with the service and march to proceed in Taree as normal on Sunday (April 25).
Visit our website throughout the day for extensive coverage.
Also tune into the Manning River Times Facebook page for a live stream of the march down Victoria Street to the war memorial.
