Paul received his award at the aero club annual "Wings" presentation recently.
Beth Weeks presented with her son, retired Qantas captain Gary Weeks, the Treva Weeks Memorial Trophy to the club's best pilots Russell Jones, Richard Gliddon and Bruce Harrison. These three pilots will represent the club at the Australian Light Aircraft Championships to be held at Echuca.
Club person of the year was awarded to Richard Gliddon.
Chief pilot Mike Nolan reported the club's scenic flights over the Manning-Great Lakes are very popular with more than 30 flights made during the last few months and strong bookings taken for the future.
Mike also reported the club's aircraft is in excellent condition and the new leather seats are most comfortable for passengers.
Following a recent $20,000 State government grant, presented by Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead, work on the club house is ongoing. Under the direction of member Gary Tonkin, many working bees have already been held and more are scheduled for much needed reconditioning of the external walls and roof.
